Qdrive Manufacturing Large Coolers and PWGs Again

CFIC-Qdrive and licensee Praxair, Inc. end exclusivity on CFIC technology: Qdrive offers high-capacity units...

Date: 3-Apr-2008

CFIC-Qdrive and licensee Praxair, Inc. have completed a re-structuring of their business relationship, ending exclusivity and reducing the license's field of allowed uses of Qdrive technology. Under the previous agreement (in effect since 2001), CFIC built and sold large units only in limited numbers for development purposes, while the licensee pursued in-house applications and sale-of-cold services using CFIC's Qdrive technology.

Under the new arrangements, CFIC will again manufacture and sell Qdrive coolers directly and in unlimited numbers to all buyers, throughout its full technology range. Improved business flexibility and market acceptance is expected for Qdrive's robust, efficient acoustic-Stirling cryocooling technology under the new agreement.

CFIC-Qdrive has announced immediate availability for orders of pressure-wave generators in four large sizes: ratings of 2.5, 5, 10, and 20 kilowatts (models 2s226W, 2s241W, 2s297W, and 2s362W). Complete cryocoolers and liquefiers in these same frame sizes are also available for provisional order, with first deliveries expected in late 2008 in rated 77K capacities from 100 to over 1,000 watts of cooling.
